Information Disclosure, Coal Withdrawal and Carbon Emissions Reductions: A Policy Test Based on China’s Environmental Information Disclosure

How to better explore a diversity of emissions reduction paths has become the key China achieving carbon peak and neutralization goals as well transforming existing energy structure soon possible. Based on this, from perspective information flow, this study used differences-in-differences method (DID) identify “net effect” caused by China’s environmental disclosure. The results showed following: first, disclosure could effectively promote regional reductions had effect central western regions low density regions. Second, achievement targets was mainly attributed positive impact in process “coal withdrawal.” Finally, also found that helped clean development withdrawal,” promotion public awareness regarding supervision strengthen external reduction.
